The Four Noble Truths

The foundational teaching of the Buddha — understanding suffering, its origin, its cessation, and the path leading to its cessation.

Mindfulness (Sati)

The practice of present-moment awareness. Mindfulness is the foundation of all meditation practices at Nissarana Vihara.

Samatha Meditation

Tranquility meditation that develops deep concentration and inner calm through focused attention.

Vipassanā Meditation

Insight meditation that develops wisdom through observing the three characteristics of existence — impermanence, suffering, and non-self.
